With and without a crown, I've devoted my life to MAKING A DIFFERENCE every day by confronting and combating the negative stigma surrounding mental health, by promoting "pawsitive" mental health through the very real benefits of the "pet effect" and the human-animal bond and by serving communities around the world one paw at a time.
I am a civilian Soldier. In 2017 on deployment to Bagram, Afghanistan I was inspired by the transformation I witnessed and experienced with the Afghaistan rescue dog, Rogue. My pursuits to "pawsitively" create a culture of mental health began the very moment this photo was taken.
The mutually beneficial relationship between humans and animals that promotes the well-being of both. There is both subjective and empirical data to support the benefits of Animal Assisted Interventions (AAI) from lowering bood pressure to increasing feelings of well being. Celebbrate this with me and many others by taking a photo and tagging it on social media with #ThePetEffectChallenge
Through my membership with Pet Partners and Pet Partners of the Red River Valley, I am part of more than 10,000 volunteers worldwide that are dedicated to improving health and touching lives through programs like "Read with Me", "Walk with Me", "The World's Largest Pet Walk", and becoming an Advocate in our communites for therapy animals.
